We were delighted to host the IPF this morning for a lively discussion on current practices in benchmarking.
Edward Trevilliion and Alan Gardner from Heriot-Watt University presented their research, which the IPF is due to publish in full shortly. Andrew Angeli, Head of European Research at CBRE Global Investors, then hosted a panel discussion joined by Ian Mason (AEW Europe), Katie Smith (CBRE Global Investors), Matthew Abbot (Mercer) and Peter Hobbs (bfinance).
Leaving aside the detailed discussions on current practices, I was pleased to hear that the well developed benchmarks and indices which we have in the UK are a factor which sets our real estate industry apart from that in other parts of the world. In these uncertain pre-Brexit times it's good to reinforce some of many positives about our sector.
